Test Analyst
Glasgow £32k - £38k
What do you want from a job? Key question this which we all pose to ourselves occasionally.
Is it to work in a huge Blue Chip organisation that offers security? Perhaps, given what 2020 has thrown at us, job security is even less of a thing now than ever. Is it to have a good benefits package - Pension for some, is an important consideration. However, one possible downside of working with such organisations could be that you never really feel part of something, feel loved, recognise your value within an organisation of multiple thousands of employees. Another could be that you are tasked with working on projects that either, after months, get dropped or that you never really get to appreciate the value of your work.
My Client, on the west side of Glasgow, can offer security (as much as can be offered in 2021) as despite being around 40 staff in number, their parent company is a multi-million pound organisation. They can offer you projects to work on, where you will be far closer to the coal face and be able to see the value you are bring to the business, their product and their clients.
What is the product, who are their clients? The product is a SaaS and market leading within the UK and U.S and is ever growing within other global locations. Their clients deliver a service that benefits communities across the world and can open minds, educate and enthral people.
At this time my client is looking to recruit several positions within the business, amongst these is a Test Analyst whose duties would be to set up and configure test environments and relevant data in readiness for test execution, maintain the integrity of the environment during execution to ensure validity of test results. You will be someone who has tested at all stages of a product lifecycle (development, integration, UAT, pre and post deployment) and execute an agreed set of test cases in line with a test plan and development schedule, providing clear and accurate test reports on success and progress. You would be tasked with the design and execution of non-functional tests, creation and execution of regression tests as well as upgrade and installation tests on software. Analysis of test failures and liaising with a first class software engineering team to review. Production of documentation for the enablement of maintenance on automated tests and deliverables required throughout the testing lifecycle.
I know this client well and can tell you that they are a bunch of clever people who love what they do (an what they do is pretty neat!). They are open to looking at new ways of thinking, new technology that enhances the product or brings benefits to their clients. They have a fantastic work environment and I have witnessed first hand, the social aspect of this amazing business. It is a great place to work.
If you have experience of testing web based applications and browsers, experience with HTML, Javascript and related web technologies, Java and have worked within Agile or Scrum then you are bringing the required skills to the table. If you are a problem solver with passion, who wants their opinion to be well received and considered then you should get in touch to discuss further with me on 0131 344 4781 or stuart.alexander@ be-it.co.uk
