Job Description

 

 

 

Head Medical are looking for a registered Adult Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care to surgical patients of all ages covering day surgery, HDU and ambulatory care. 

You will be providing care to patients attending the DSU and Ambulatory Care Unit for long term condition care, undertaking pre and post-operative care, biological infusions, support to patients undertaking sub cutaneous injections.  You will also be assisting clinicians during the administration of, maintenance and termination of regional or local anaesthetics, and also undertaking secondary recovery care of the DSU. Your care will cover a wide range of specialities including general surgical, ENT, ophthalmology, gynaecology, orthopaedic, paediatric, neurology and dermatology patients.

 

Shetland Islands:

The scenic Shetland Islands are situated at the far north of Scotland in the North Atlantic between Great Britain, The Faroe Islands and Norway.  Shetland stretches around a hundred miles from north to south and its nearest neighbour is Orkney 50 miles away.  Due to the warm ocean current Shetland is much milder than other places on the same latitude.

 

Requirements:


Registered Nurse
Venepuncture, Cannulation, ECG and IV Drug Administration
Previous surgical experience
HDU experience desirable


 

This post is to start ASAP for 1 months and you will be expected to work flexibly Monday to Friday to cover the clinical demand of both departments. Return travel (from within the UK) will be paid for and single board accommodation will be provided.
