Consultant Cardiologist - Dumfries & Galloway We are looking to speak with Consultant Cardiologists who are looking for either a short or long term contract based in Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary, a new purpose-built in 2017 state of the art hospital. If successful, you will join a dynamic and enthusiastic multidisciplinary Cardiology team encompassing three Consultants, a Specialty Doctor, two rotating Middle Graders, two Cardiology Nurse Specialists, Rehabilitation Team and Heart Failure Nurses. The clinical team provides a wide range of cardiology services to a population of 148,000.  With a wide range of activities on offer in the area you can maintain a great work/life balance. Housing prices are relatively low compared to the bigger cities and it boasts good schools for those in need. Being only 2 hours travel time from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Lake District and Newcastle you will be able to fully enjoy these places during time off. To be considered for this post you must Hold registration with the General Medical Council.  Be on the Specialist registration or be within 6 months of achieving this. Salary will follow NHS scales and be from £87,534 up to £1116,313 and will be dependent on experience. This job will be subject to a police check. Following a client visit to NHS Lothian today, I am delighted to have been asked to find obstetric scrub practitioners for locum shifts in Edinburgh.  I have work available Monday to Sunday, 08:00 - 20:30. Ideally I would like a small team to cover the whole week for the client. This is a fantastic opportunity for regular work in emergency obstetrics. Ongoing Hospital based GP sessions available - Scottish Borders  Head Medical have an ongoing requirement for locum GP out-of-hours cover based in the Scottish Borders General Hospital. We can provide regular shifts most months and are keen to keep continuity as much as possible.  Working as part of the out-of-hours team based within Borders General Hospital, you will see patients referred via NHS 24 and via A&E. You will work as part of this busy team and may on occasion be asked to cover the Covid Hub. Home visits are very rare as usually covered by the nursing team, but in rare circumstances you may be required to attend one.  If interested, we can offer rates of pay of £115 per hour, plus paid travel and accommodation may be provided with appropriate notice.  To be considered for this great opportunity you must have GMC registration with an active licence to practise, as well as being on the Scottish Performers List.  Experience of working in a similar setting is essential and you must hold the right to work in the UK.             Consultant General Surgeon – Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland An opportunity is available for a Consultant General Surgeon to join the General Surgery Department at the new Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary, located in the south of Scotland. Head Medical are delighted to continue to work with this healthboard and are keen to discuss this fantastic new hospital with potential applicants. The Department of Surgery provide a comprehensive elective and emergency general surgical service, with day case/endoscopy/out-patient services also provided at the Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer. The combined Gastro-intestinal Services are largely provided by surgeons with an Upper GI interest and colorectal interest, and they deal with 130 new cases of colorectal cancers and 40-50 oesophagogastric cancers per annum. Elective and emergency vascular surgery is undertaken here as part of the Solway Vascular Service, which is a network for North Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway. As a Consultant in this department you must have strong general surgery skills and most special interests can be considered, with a preference for Upper GI. Joining a team of 12 Consultants, you will contribute to the ongoing development of general and laparoscopic surgery as well as participate in the 1:8 emergency on-call rota. Experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery is highly desirable.  Experience in general surgery will be required to enable to Consultant to function competently within the on-call rota. Departmental educational meetings, mortality and morbidity meetings, and journal club are held monthly and the department is supported by and active and enthusiastic Research and Development team. Currently 33 research projects (out of 147) are surgical and adult cancer related which includes local, national and international projects. This is a great opportunity to join a very supportive and inclusive department, who will accommodate a range of special interests. Working at this newly build district general hospital, you will have access to the state-of-the-art integrated operating theatres. The location is really outstandingly beautiful, with the landscape as a key feature in the design of the new hospital building.             Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry – Scotland   An opportunity is available for a qualified Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join the Dumfries & Galloway CAMHS team. The post will work in the multidisciplinary team dedicated to children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions. Although this would be best suited to candidates wishing to work fulltime, there is provision for part-time working – please let me know if you would like to discuss this. You will be principally based in The Willows in Dumfries and join the existing 4.5 WTE consultants in serving the population of Dumfries and Galloway which is 148,190 with approximately 27,000 under 18 year olds. The posts will be managed by CAMHS within the Women, Children and Sexual Health Directorate. The directorate is accountable to the Children's Service Executive Group.   Your duty will be to provide clinical leadership and psychiatric input to multi-disciplinary teams of specialist healthcare professionals within D&G CAMHS. This will be achieved by working closely with colleagues across disciplines and with the service nurse manager, in addition to developing linkages with other key services. Consultant Psychiatrists, the Nurse Manager and Team Leads are responsible for the Clinical Governance of the services to ensure safety, quality, and person-centred care.   CAMHS in Dumfries and Galloway is undertaking a programme of change in line with the Scottish Governments ambitions for improved mental health and wellbeing for all young people in Scotland. The improvement plans set out a series of projects to improve access with a shift to early intervention. The development of a new assessment and diagnostic service for children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions is a major service redesign to improve access to assessment and diagnosis and develop partnership working with our local communities. The key focus is on achieving good clinical outcomes and developing services in partnership with children and families with lived experience of CAMHS.   You will be expected to contribute significantly to the continuing improvement of CAMHS in Dumfries and Galloway. New developments are supported by our relationship with the West of Scotland CAMHS Regional Network and the Mental Health Access Improvement Support Team, Healthcare Improvement Scotland.           Consultant ENT Surgeon - Scotland An excellent opportunity is available for a Consultant in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery to join a district general hospital located in the south west of Scotland. This is a full time post working with an excellent multi-disciplinary team, you will be working alongside the current Consultant ENT Surgeon and supported by a Specialty Doctor and trainees.  You will contribute to the provision of out-patient clinics (general adult and paediatric services) at the main hospital and local community hospital, together with operating sessions.
